Back in October last year, Namco Bandai partners S.A.S teamed up with Rising Star Games to distribute two Harvest Moon games namely Animal Parade and Sunshine Islands for the Wii and DS respectively. The next month saw the release of another title called Hero of Leaf Valley which unfurled across the Sony PSP.
Now it looks like the franchise is getting set to unveil for two more portable gaming devices. Natsume plans to launch Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns in North America for Nintendo DS and the newly-released 3DS. The game sees two peaceful villages namely Bluebell and Konohana. The two places which shared friendly ties with each other are now bitter rivals. The reason for this outcome was food as each of the villages in question was convinced that their cooking was the best among all.
“We’re extremely excited to be bringing The Tale of Two Towns to these two great platforms,” explained Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO at Natsume. “We wanted to ensure that all of our loyal Harvest Moon fans would have a chance to play this game. No matter which version they pick up, they’re sure to love the great new cast of characters, the fun festivals, and the exciting new gameplay mechanics.”
In Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns, gamers begin as a new farmer on the block and can opt for their desired village. They can choose either to live in the animal-loving European-styled Bluebell village or Eastern-styled Konohana that boast of prosperous fields of crops. Players are called on to make a successful farm, choose a home, an even take part in all their various festivals that will be open to them. Although the two neighbors do not see eye-to-eye, owners of the handheld devices may just be able to bring them together with their skills.
Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns is anticipated to unveil by summer this year. The company however hasn’t yet revealed the exact pricing or release dates of the game.
