Dante’s Inferno The Animated Movie release date revealed

It seems that even before the game release, Dante’s Inferno has already captured the hearts of fans and gamers alike. Just yesterday we reported that the very first issue of the Dante’s Inferno comic book miniseries could be espied. Now they will soon be able to watch an animated version of the poem dubbed as Dante’s Inferno The Animated Movie. The offering is developed by Starz Media’s Film Roman in collaboration with EA and is scheduled to release in February next year.

The game as well as the animated movie is based on the first part of The Divine Comedy penned by Dante Alighieri. Both titles portray Alighieri’s decent into hell and his encounters and journeys to the poet’s nine circles of Hell. Fans will be taken through limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery as the hero scouts for his beloved Beatrice.

Dante’s Inferno The Animated Movie is packed with spectacular visuals and fashioned by a creative team that has been associated with other animated movies. These include Ghost in the Shell, Tales of the Black Freighter, Samurai Champloo, Blood the Last Vampire and Ergo Proxy. The film is set to give viewers a deeper adaptation of the medieval masterpiece poem.

For a further diverse outcome, Film Roman and EA have teamed up with many studios with a renowned reputation in the anime industry. The project is produced by Joe Goyette from Film Roman who was also associated with Dead Space: Downfall. Victor Cook of Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron and The Spectacular Spider-Man fame is at the director’s helm. The animated movie based on Dante’s Inferno is penned by Brandon Auman who is famous for his work in Iron Man: Armored Adventures.

All the individual episodes emerge from acclaimed animation studios located in the USA, Korea and Japan. Besides divulging deep into the different characters and story adaptation, the animated film also portrays other aspects of the poem which are absent in the upcoming game. This isn’t the first offering to emerge from the EA and Film Roman partnership. The companies previously gave rise to the Dead Space: Downfall which unfurled onto the DVD and apparently attained a great response from its audience.

Dante’s Inferno The Animated Movie would unveil on February 8, 2010 on Blu Ray and DVD. Pricing details have not yet been revealed by the company.
