First Issue of Dante’s Inferno Comic Book Miniseries hits stores

With all the anticipation surrounding the much awaited entry of Dante’s Inferno, fans can be in the meanwhile satisfied with a comic book miniseries based on the title. Electronic Arts along with DC Comics/WildStorm Prodcutions unleash the very first issue Dante’s Inferno. This offering is the first of six issues that make up the entire Dante’s Inferno comic book miniseries.

The latest comic is penned by acclaimed comic book writer Christo Gage. He has been associated with many successful endeavors like X-Men/Spider-Man and Wildcats. The eye-catching artwork is designed by Diego Latorre of The Incredible Hulk fame. The first issue in the miniseries sees the murder of Beatrice, Dante’s love and the hero’s descent into the murky depths of hell in order to reclaim her soul.

Dante’s Inferno senior producer, Justin Lambros commented, “We’ve been incredibly lucky to get the talented artists of WildStorm to contribute their inspired craft to the Dante’s Inferno epic. The vivid artwork from Diego Latorre just screams out of the page, and Christo Gage’s thoughtful words breathe life and give soul to Dante and Beatrice. We can’t wait to see what gamers think of the comic, and we think comic fans will love the game once it hits stores on February 9.”

Dante’s Inferno lets players experience Dante Alighieri’s nine circles of hell namely limbo, gluttony, anger, heresy, treachery, lust, greed, violence and fraud. As he goes in search of Beatrice’s soul, Dante will be faced with swarms of dangers in the form of demons and other monstrosities. The comic book which is based on the highly-anticipated game highlights the action oriented moments and will also focus on Beatrice’s experience. This way, players and fans will be bombarded with a more in-depth game story and also espy more closely the depiction of hell as portrayed in the dramatic poem.

Dante’s Inferno is expected to release on February 9, 2010 for the PS3, PSP and Xbox 360. Before the game unfurls, a demo version can be acquired from the PlayStation Network today and Xbox Live on December 24, 2009.
