MAG is a MMO shooter game fashioned for the PS3. The title, developed by Zipper Interactive underwent beta tests over the past few months. Now according to the official PlayStation blog, the official box art of MAG for the US and Canada has finally been disclosed to fans of the game. The company also unveiled some notable information that they unearthed during the testing period.
The full public beta testing took place from August 17 to December 5, 2009. During that time span, over 42,000 matches were played by participants. It was witnessed that each week during October’s beta period, individual MAG gamers would cover around 534,000+ miles in-game. The company also observed a lot of vital statistics throughout the Beta 4 and 4.5 periods which unfurled from November 9 to December 5, 2009.
There were over 65,000 gamers who logged on during that period. Out of the total number of players, 17,000 and 3500 qualified for Squad Leader and Platoon Leader respectively. The game also saw 1100 and 206 gamers making it to OIC and level 60 experience cap. respectively. During the concluding time span, the company noted that there were around 18 million kills and more than 700 million shots fired. The popular acme 3 maps fell under the Sabotage mode. These included Syr Darya Uplink, Darien Network, and Copper Hills Relay.
After a successful beta testing, MAG is scheduled to hit stores on January 26, 2009. The company has still not disclosed the price of the game as yet.
