Trials Evolution Track Ranking Bug Fixed

Trials Evolution, which recently succeeded in achieving the highest grossing day-sales in XBLA history, was experiencing a track ranking bug ever since its April 18 launch. This issue has been resolved by the game’s developer – Redlynx, which claims to have worked ‘closely’ with Microsoft to deliver a fix for the problem.

The title’s user-made track listings were regularly causing popular courses to disappear from rankings. That’s because the game was previously promoting new user tracks with high rankings, while established favorites were taking a backseat. Redlynx has disclosed that from now onwards, the amount of user ratings will also be taken under consideration while ranking tracks, which will solve the issue.

Jason Bates, a RedLynx spokesman, explained through a statement on Eurogamer, “We have worked closely with Microsoft to employ a Track Central fix addressing an issue affecting user-rating balance for player-created tracks. Now the rating scheme better takes into account the number of votes given and therefore those tracks with lots of excellent ratings given will appear higher than those with only a few. We’ll continue to work on this and other issues.”

The game was released earlier this month exclusively through Xbox Live as part of Microsoft’s Arcade Next promotional program that also comprises Bloodforge, Fable Heroes and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. It involves physics-based racing gameplay which can be experienced across a range of track types and environments. Moreover, even multiplayer features are included in the title along with support for online leaderboards.

Trials Evolution can be purchased now via Xbox Live at a price of 1,200 Microsoft Points.
