As reported by us earlier, the Versus Booster Map Pack has made its way to Gears of War 3 and can now be downloaded via Xbox Live. This pack has apparently been presented by Paramount Pictures as part of a tie-up between Gears 3 and their upcoming movie, Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
Five new maps will make their way into the game with this pack and will be available in social matchmaking playlists. Among the five, two maps – Bullet Marsh and Clocktower are brand new, while Azura, Rustlung and Blood Drive have featured before in the recently released Horde Command Pack.
Paramount Pictures and Epic Games have supposedly launched a new Impossible Mission for Gears 3. Under this contest, those who watch the Mission: Impossible trailer on Xbox Live before completing the game’s campaign on Insane difficulty in single or multiplayer mode before December 25, 2011 will be rewarded with an exclusive Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol Weapon Skin Pack.
This pack comprises Ghost Protocol themed Lancers, Hammerbursts, Retro Lancers, Gnasher Shotguns and Sawed-off Shotguns. Furthermore, other prizes would also be doled out to those who register and attempt the contest, but fail to complete it. And those who have already finished the campaign in Insane difficulty will be automatically rewarded with the weapon skin pack on December 31.
Moreover, all those who visit the Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol experience through Xbox Live, will be entitled to enter the Gears of War 3 and Mission: Impossible prizing. The grand reward for this is a Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol custom Xbox 360 slim console with Kinect, a 50-inch HDTV, a 5.1 digital HD home theater system as well as a Mission: Impossible complete DVD series.
The Versus Booster Map Pack for Gears of War 3 can now be downloaded free of cost by Xbox 360 gamers via Xbox Live.
