Trials HD is noted to be an Xbox Live Arcade title that released back in August last year and was part of the second annual Xbox Live Summer of Arcade. In December, the Trials HD Big Pack add-on also made its worldwide release for 400 Microsoft Points. Now as RedLynx suggests, Trials HD has surpassed the one million sales mark in little over one year since its release.
These iconic sales numbers pertain to just the 2D puzzle/racing Trials HD game via Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 system. The sales digits however exclude those acquired by the premier expansion pack entitled Trials HD – Big Pack.
“Only a handful of downloadable console games have reached this plateau. For a company of about thirty-five people, it’s a significant achievement, and it validates our strategy of focusing on online and downloadable games that have the potential to evolve into long-term, successful game franchises,” explained Tero Virtala, CEO of RedLynx.
“This is a satisfying milestone. But it’s just the beginning. With the Big Thrills DLC, we are including ten of the very best user-created tracks right alongside our own,” revealed Antti Ilvessuo, Creative Director and co-founder of RedLynx, as well as the lead designer on Trials HD.
The second expansion pack namely Trials HD – Big Thrills has been revealed only recently and is slated to arrive in Q4 2010. This particular offering will include around 40 new tracks out of which 10 tracks are fashioned by dedicated fans who took part in the Track Creator Challenge.
