Nintendo DSi XL to Advent in New Colors This October

Even though the holiday season is weeks away from now, the fervor around it seems to have gripped the gaming circuit. With innumerable titles heading for a grand release, Nintendo has drenched its DSi XL handheld gaming console in three bright hues namely yellow, green and blue.

Shimmering in wine red and dark brown colors, the console has marked a sales figure of approximately 3.6 million units since its debut in March this year. The two new vibrant sheathings are expected to further add zing to the Nintendo DS family. Touted to package the same functionality as the earlier iterations, these new systems will sport glossy sheen on top. The undersides have been designed with a matte finish that offers additional grip, larger screens and wider viewing angle.

Featuring a 93 percent larger touchscreen as opposed to the Nintendo DSi Lite, this offering has been packed with a bigger pen like stylus. Additionally, gamers can pick the stylus in a color of their choice. Like their predecessors, these consoles will come pre-loaded with two Nintendo DSiWare software such as A Little Bit of…Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: Arts Edition and Dictionary 6 in 1 with Camera function. Besides, the Nintendo DSi Browser will allow players to smoothly access the Internet with an appropriate wireless connection.

Gamers can enjoy Professor Layton and the Lost Future on their new systems as the title is slated for an October 22, 2010 release across Europe. Stepping into the world of the professor and his apprentice Luke, players will need to solve mysterious puzzles in this exciting escapade. The game features more than 165 fresh brain teasers, riddles and logic puzzles, unfolding a delightful experience for fans of the series.

The yellow, green and blue Nintendo DSi XL will reach European markets on October 8, 2010.
