Telltale’s dog and rabbit crime solvers, Sam and Max are set to make an appearance on the Xbox Live Arcade. According to the press release, the first two “seasons” are coming to the Xbox Live Arcade with PC and Wii retail versions soon to follow. We had reported about Sam and Max, a few months ago.
Sam and Max are two Freelance Police who more often than not, flout the law and get the bad guy. In Season One, the two vigilantes travel to solve crime in different places like the streets of Washington D.C. and even to the moon. New releases of Season One are to be called Sam and Max Save the World. Season Two is a time warped series in which the detectives battle aliens and is to be called Sam and Max Beyond Time and Space. These new titles will appear on the Xbox Live Arcade and on retail version of Atari’s 2009 second season.
“With Sam and Max coming to Xbox Live Arcade and the approaching retail launch, we’re reaching a larger audience than we ever have before,” remarked Telltale CEO Dan Connors. “These new releases give us an opportunity to better communicate the imaginative stories that make the Sam and Max games so special, and to strengthen the unique identity of each season.”
On the Xbox Live Arcade, both seasons will be released as full-season bundles for the Xbox 360 console. The second season is set to retail for the Nintendo Wii and the PC in the months to follow. Sam and Max Beyond Time and Space which is the second season, has received many rave reviews as has won Aggie Awards comprising Game of the Year, Best Comedy Writing and Best Gameplay.
