Turtles in Time Remake Coming to XBLA from Konami and Ubisoft

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time was released in 1991 by Konami for the arcades and later ported to the Super NES system. The game involving time traveling aspects became a hit with fans and now Escapist Magazine is reporting that according to a fan who attended the ”˜Galabunga’ event in New York City, a remake of Turtles in Time is coming to the XBLA from Konami and Ubisoft.

The 1991 Turtles in Time was in 2D and the upcoming XBLA game will have gameplay which is in 2D, but the rest, including the character models and the background will be rendered in 3D. Even the music will be untouched, but apparently one fight with a boss will digress from that in the Super NES version of the game.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time is right now just in development for the XBLA, and it seems that no price or release date was announced. Also, no word if there will be online multiplayer, but the fan does reveal that a Nintendo Wii version could be on the way.
