Asus ROG GL552 gaming laptop with Nvidia graphics unveiled for Rs 70999

Asus has its Republic of Gamers (ROG) series as an excuse for when it feels like dabbling in the gaming laptops segment to release devices like the ROG GL552. The company is going to be up against some tough competition in the form of the Dell Alienware branding. But at least it’s got price on its side considering that the new notebook costs just Rs 70999, which is a very big advantage in a market like India.

The Asus ROG GL552 aims to be your regular gaming laptop, which means it must land equipped with some really competitive hardware. Sure enough, the company has dropped an Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M graphics card with 2GB VRAM into it. You’ll also find a 22nm quad core fourth generation Intel Core i7-4720HQ Haswell processor and up to 8GB RAM under the hood. The display is a 15.6-inch full HD LED panel with a glare-resistant finish.

Since portability is a big factor when it comes to devices like the ROG GL552, Asus has kept the weight to 2.6kg. The keyboard is a full sized one with the number pad and all, and the keys have backlighting to avoid cramping your gaming style as much as possible. The audio is supported by SonicMaster and AudioWizard technology. The memory configuration reads at 1TB, providing you with enough space to store your games.

The Asus ROG GL552 sports three USB 3.0 ports. It also features outlets for VGA, HDMI and headphone/mic, in addition to an SD card reader. Major retailers like Snapdeal, Flipkart and Amazon India will be selling it online. It will be bundled with a gaming mouse, headset and carrying case. A 48WHr 4-cell Li-ion battery, Intel HD Graphics 4600 and a 1000Mbps Ethernet port are included among the specs.
