Age Of Empires 4 Details Reveal A Comeback For War Elephants, And More

Age of Empires 4

Age of Empires 4 is set for release in fall 2021 and its makers have decided to give us a grand look at everything that the game will offer. Among the eight civilizations in the game will be the Delhi Sultanate, which was known for the use of war elephants. This marks a comeback for the wild tuskers after they had caused tremendous chaos in the second game from the series.

Age of Empires 4 has also been blessed with an extended gameplay trailer featuring its Norman campaign. This is one of the four historic campaigns that will be available at launch and will also include naval battles. There will be a total of eight playable civilizations in the game and four among them have been revealed in the form of the English, the Chinese, the Mongols, and the Delhi Sultanate. The game will take place across Medieval, Feudal, Castle, and Imperial ages.

The official blurb of the Norman campaign reads, “The Norman campaign will tell the story of Duke William of Normandy as he wrestles control of England from King Harold, starting at the Battle of Hastings, then later following his descendants Robert, William II, and Henry I as they continue to fight for what would become modern day England. All the classic medieval units were shown here in action, from knights on horseback engaging with pikemen across large fields of battle capped off with a great looking castle siege.”

Another big addition to Age of Empires 4 will be short documentaries detailing the histories of the events you’ll be playing. There’s even a new stealth forest mechanic, which allows you to hide within patches of forest to set up ambushes. Upon its launch this fall, Age of Empires 4 will be available only on PC via Steam and the Windows Store. It will be a day one offering on the Xbox Game Pass for PC.
