2013’s Company of Heroes 2 by Relic still serves as an excellent addition to any list of the best real time strategy games ever. That is why it continues to enjoy a strong audience till date. If you’ve never given it a shot for whatever reason, the Humble Store is offering it as a free download till December 16.
All you have to do is sign up for a Steam account and hit download. It’s available for Windows, Linux and Mac users. The freebie opens up access to the base game so that you can play from the point of view of two armies from the Eastern Front covering the Soviet’s Red Army and the German Wehrmacht Ostheer (both multiplayer).
It additionally features a single player campaign which lets gamers lace up and play as a Soviet commander attempting to free Russia from the enemy invaders. Other DLC content for Company of Heroes 2 such as Ardennes Assault is up for grabs at special sale prices until December 18, while the Master Collection can be purchased for $10.
Of course, the only true way to enjoy this World War II title to the hilt is by engaging in multiplayer mode. The campaigns are great, but not its selling point. So unless you’ve busted your bank over Christmas shopping, you’re likely to end up paying for the DLC that’s not part of the Humble Bundle deal. It’s impossible not to love the game once you’ve played it.
