Tropico 4 Gold Edition Announced

A Tropico 4 Gold Edition has been announced by publisher Kalypso Media. This version of the construction and management simulation title, known mostly for its political influences, will kick in its Modern Times expansion which was released in March this year, while it hasn’t been mentioned whether it will be infused with the Junta content or not. This bundle will be made available for both the PC as well as the Xbox 360.

The game was first released for PC in August last year, following which, it made its way to the Xbox 360 in October, 2011. It allows players to assume the role of the president of a small Caribbean island, with the objective of driving the country to greatness. During the course of the campaign, lots of difficult choices need to be made; those that affect the future of the island in more ways than one.

The Gold Edition will comprise two campaigns – one, of the original game, and the other, from the expansion – that are said to feature over 30 missions combined. Being a construction and management simulation title, it allows gamers to choose from over 100 buildings that range from stock exchange towers, shopping malls, aqua parks and car factories to even shuttle launch pads. There’s also a Sandbox mode included in it that offers a map and scenario editor to help build custom games.

The Tropico series of games has been around since 2001 when the first title was launched to considerable acclaim. It was followed by two sequels in 2003 and 2009, before it got its latest game last year. Those who wish to purchase it right now should wait for the Tropico 4 Gold Edition which will be coming out on November 13, 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PC with its price tagged at 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,083).
