Euro 2020 DLC for PES 2020 gets a release date as real event risks getting cancelled

PES 2020

Konami has announced the release date for the EURO 2020 DLC that will be doled out to players of its football simulator, PES 2020. April 30 is when it will be delivered as a free update for the PC, PS4 and the Xbox One versions of the game. This release comes at a time when the fate of the real-world event hangs in the balance due to the coronavirus outbreak that has gripped the world. It was only yesterday that UEFA announced the postponement of all the games from its Champions League and Europa League competitions for the same reason.

The Euro 2020 DLC comes with all the 55 national teams that are supposed to be part of the competition. It will also add all their latest kits and squads to the game. Moreover, an updated Wembley Stadium, which is set to host the Euro final has also been created for the game. But Konami had a lot more planned for it than just this. The company had planned to push content as the tournament progressed, like match-day online events, updated balls, featured players on myClub and a lot more. However, none of this will be possible if the tournament never takes place amidst COVID-19 virus fears.

PES 2020 was released last September for PC, the PS4 and the Xbox One. Lionel Messi returned as the cover star of the standard edition. He was last seen on the cover way back in 2011. The game ran into a controversy in December, when Mesut Özil was completely removed from its Chinese version, because he condemned the Chinese government’s crackdown on Uyghur Muslims.

Like we said, the Euro 2020 DLC for PES 2020 is coming on April 30 as a free update.
