Sega Brings Virtua Tennis 4 for PS Vita, Also Working on Four More Games

Sega had earlier brought Virtua Tennis 4 as a launch title for the PSP and the PS3. The company seems to repeat the act for a third time by revealing the game for Sony’s new portable gaming device. Sega announces Virtua Tennis 4, slated to be launched for the Sony PS Vita. The game will be developed by the same Virtua Tennis team in Japan. In addition to this, the company also shared that four more games for the system will be coming soon.

The game comes complete with top tennis stars, and gamers get to pick their favorite from 22 players, namely Federer, Nadal, Murray and Djokovic. The front and rear touch panel controls can be used on court and outside it. Classic pad controls are also an option for playing the game. The Party function in Vita transforms the World Tour Map and online mode into a more social experience. Users can track friend’s progress, chat, share game stats and comments and even challenge them for matches.

“With Virtua Tennis 4 on NGP the team has embraced many of the features that the new hardware is capable of, including the high-definition graphics, Touch Panel control, network functionality, motion sensing system and the camera,” commented Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Sega Europe and Sega America. “The way the team have been able to implement this brings the Virtua Tennis series to a whole new level on NGP.”

The wide customization attributes should let gamers change their character using the NGP camera and paste their photo on the character. Touch Versus Match offers a two player mode to the Vita, making matches more competitive and interesting for both the players.
