New FIFA Street Title to be Launched in March 2012

Fans of EA’s FIFA Street games will be pleased to know that a new title in the series is on the cards and is apparently scheduled to release in March 2012. At this year’s gamescom in Cologne, Germany, EA had announced that the game will be up for launch in ‘early 2012,’ and the latest news confirms that the release will indeed take place in Q1 of next year.

At a U.K. launch event of FIFA 12, leaflets bearing information of the title were being doled out to attendees who purchased the game. vg247 was one such buyer and the website has hence confirmed that the next FIFA Street title is slated for a March 2012 release. Upon its launch it will be the fourth FIFA Street game to be outed for gamers around the world.

While EA keeps churning out games under its FIFA franchise year after year, the Street counterpart is yet to receive a title since the last three years, the previous one coming in the form of FIFA Street 3 in 2008. This game was made available on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS and comprised single player as well as multiplayer modes.

On the other hand, FIFA Street 2 which was released in 2007 was available for the PS2, PSP, Xbox and GameCube. The first title in the series came in 2005 and was launched for the same platforms as the second one. All these games are known for their flair, style and trickery, as opposed to the FIFA titles which focus more on team play and tactics.

Confirmation of the March 2012 release window for the next FIFA Street title will definitely come as a breather to fans who have been waiting since three years for a new game in the franchise.
