Not long after introducing racing fans to a beta version of Need For Speed World, Electronic Arts will offer gamers some more action on different sets of wheels this time. The game is set in the all new city of Port Caverton that features skate parks, unique districts and endless lines for the skating fanatic to revel in.

This fresh new installment of the Skate franchise has Jason Lee as coach Frank of Skate-School. Frank will guide gamers as they polish their skills on the stick before getting out onto the streets of Port Caverton. Those familiar with the game can refresh their skills and learn new tricks like underflips and darkslides. Players may also fashion a mega-ramp park or dream plaza from scratch or utilize the Object Dropper to alter the city landscape.

“Since the very beginning of the Skate franchise, we have captured the true essence skateboarding, be it from the feel of nailing that perfect trick, to the feeling of just hanging out and sessioning with your friends. For us, Skate 3 is the culmination of this endeavor – the most connected, accessible and social skateboarding experience yet,” remarked Jason DeLong, Senior Producer.

Players are equipped with tools for creating and sharing their own skate parks, videos and photos with friends by uploading them from their console or importing custom created graphics or logos from the Skate site. Skate 3 boasts of featuring some of the best skaters including Braydon Szafranski, John Cardiel, Andrew Reynolds, Mark Appleyard, Joey Brezinski, Terry Kennedy, Darren Navarrette, Jerry Hsu and Dan Drehobl.

EA’s Skate 3 has received a ‘T’ rating from the ESRB and ‘16+’ by PEGI. It will be out for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 as also Sony’s PlayStation 3 gaming units on May 11, 2010 in the U.S. and May 14, 2010 in the U.K.
