FIFA Interactive World Cup 2011 Takes Off on PS3

As FIFA 11 kicked off with the final whistle in late September, gamers around the world cheered aloud for this latest football simulation chapter from EA Sports. While players have been warming up to the newly included career mode of the title, it is now time for the ultimate battle on the ground. Well, a post on the PlayStation blog recently revealed that the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2011 has been flagged off on the PS3.

Following the success garnered by the celebrated FIFA Interactive World Cup 2010, this edition of the tournament gets the ball rolling on the web. Unleashing online play-offs for the first time, this contest has been designed with a new format which infuses suppleness and accessibility into qualifying stages. It has been stated that the qualifiers will now host six mini seasons that span over 25 days each, starting from December 1, 2010 until May 25, 2011.

Gamers can show off their dribbling skills and dodge the ball for scoring maximum number of goals while defending their post from opponents’ attacks. Every season, two players will stand a chance to secure a seat in the Grand Final. Besides, 10 additional players can feature in the roster of the final champions by fighting their way through the Live Qualifier Events. Finally, the list of 24 finalists will also include the current FIWC champion namely Nenad Stojkovic as well as the winner of a promotional event.

The first qualifying season is now on tracks whereas the grand finale of the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2011 has been scheduled for June 2011. Gamers can visit the official FIFA website to obtain more information about the championship.
