2K Sports to launch NBA 2K11 in 3D for PS3

Third dimension seems to be the new paradigm. This subtitle for the interactive or purely visual entertainment no longer remains as fresh, since several media product manufacturers are now complying with the drift of this significant shift. Seemingly catching the air of this phenomenon, 2K Sports has revealed that the renowned NBA video game simulation franchise is set to be made accessible in 3D for PS3.

This variant of the title will be fully compatible with a 3D HD television with 3D active glasses and also be playable normally on any television. Apparently, the players who currently own the NBA 2K11 for PS3 will be able to download an upgrade via PSN to enjoy the game in 3D at no further cost.

“The authentic broadcast presentation of NBA 2K11 is something we’re really proud of,” stated Greg Thomas, president of product development for 2K Sports. “The new 3D capabilities literally add a new dimension to the experience and provide a level of immersion that has never been experienced in a basketball video game.”

Toting up an additional layer of depth, NBA 2K11 is reportedly proclaimed by the critics to offer a profound sports game experience. The title allows players to sneak into the shoes of legendary Michael Jordan and experience his greatest moments in the Jordan Challenge. While NBA 2K11 supports the PS Move motion controller on PS3, it is said to be geared up with believable physics system, broadcast-quality presentations, feature-rich simulation and realistic player models.

While NBA 2K11 with 3D capabilities is expected to be released on Best Buy starting from November 16, 2010, the original NBA 2K11 can presently be purchased for PS3, PS2 and PSP. Those already in ownership of the game can download a free upgrade from PSN in January 2011 to upgrade and experience it in 3D.
