Last month we got fans of the Tony Hawk franchise riding high with the revelation of the entire track list of the latest Tony Hawk installment. The tenth edition in the sports franchise namely Tony Hawk: Ride now hits North American stores.
The game comes complete with a skateboard controller which lets players physically take charge of the in-game action. The gestures and movements made by them directly translate into tricks in the game. They can execute grabs, ollies, grinds as well as some of signature tricks from the pro himself Tony Hawks.
Rob Kostich, head of marketing, licensed products, Activision Publishing, Inc. commented, “Tony Hawk: Ride is THE new way to play. It gives a whole new meaning to game night by allowing the entire family to challenge one another to competitions that are as fun to watch as they are to play. It’s the perfect activity for the entire family this holiday season…and anytime of the year.”
Legendary pro skater Tony Hawk stated, “This is the game I’ve always wanted to make,” said. “The skateboard peripheral opens up a whole new level of interactivity and physicality, allowing players to control the action with their whole body. I can’t wait for everyone to jump on the board and ride.”
A first for the franchise, this latest title includes a wireless skateboard controller and was fashioned especially for the game. The innovative motion sensing peripheral is devoid of any complicated button combinations or analog sticks. The title caters to players with various skill levels ranging from a amateur to a pro.
Tony Hawk: Ride is compatible with the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. No word on the pricing details as yet.
