The sports publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, 2K Sports has recently announced that they have signed up New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes who won the National Player of the Month award and has just made it to the Major League All-Stars team as their Cover Athlete and Official spokesman for Major League Baseball 2K8.
Ben Brinkman, Executive Producer, Major League Baseball 2K8 had this to say about the signing “This year we have signed one of the most exciting players in all of Major League Baseball as our official cover athlete, Jose Reyes is a multi-talented player–a great baserunner, fielder and hitter, making him the perfect spokesperson for Major League Baseball 2K8.”
“This is the first time I have ever been on the cover of a video game and it is very exciting to be a part of the best video game out there,” quipped Jose Reyes.
Jose Reyes is best known for speed and base hitting ability. He is the first player in the history of baseball to have more than 63 steals, 120 runs, 192 hits and 19 homers in a single season. Reyes led the Major League in the last season with 17 triples and 64 stolen bases and also a new Mets club record with 104 hits at Shea Stadium. He also has a song named after him in the Major League. Jose Reyes compliments the position of official spokesperson of the critically acclaimed Major League baseball 2K8.
MLB 2K8 will be available in the early part of 2008 for the Xbox 360, the PS3, PSP and Nintendo Wii. Take Two Software has launched popular games like the Grand Theft Auto series, Outlaw Golf, Outlaw Volleyball, Imperialism and others.
