Development of the title is being handled by Marvelous AQL and Japan Studio. It is modeled on a concept by Keiji Inafune which is based around the core mechanic of characters having the ability to give up parts of their body to create devastating attacks. In a message to gamers posted on the official PlayStation blog, Inafune has expressed that having put all his ‘passion and soul’ into the game’s concept, he’s pleased to see his talented team making efforts towards creating ‘the best game it could ever be.’
