Gravity Rush Demo Hitting PSN on May 29

Ever since its release for the PS Vita in Japan, Gravity Rush (also known as Gravity Daze) has been getting rave reviews for its action-adventure offerings, and so news of its demo coming to PSN on May 29 is sure to get gamers excited. This date is for the North American version, while European PSN will be getting the demo a day later on May 30, 2012.

Joystiq has received confirmed information regarding the game from Sony, making it clear that the demos will indeed land on the company’s digital delivery service for the PS Vita on the aforementioned dates. The game’s story involves a fictitious setting located on a floating town named Hekseville. Gamers play as Kat, who has lost all her memory. Upon meeting a mysterious black cat, she is blessed with the power to control gravity. She must now use her new ability to guard people from the threat of a Gravity Storm and the Nevi monsters that are brought along with it.

This title has been developed by Sony’s very own Japan Studios which is well known for hit offerings from the Patapon and Ape Escape series. The studio also includes Team ICO, which is famous for creating the much loved ICO and The Shadow of the Colossus. The game’s gravity-controlling mechanics can be used by players to fly through the air, walk on walls as well as to thrust gravity kick attacks towards enemies. Apart from its action-adventure offerings, it is also said to contain role-playing elements like leveling up, side quests, optional villains to fight and large environments to explore.

North American PSN users will be able to download the Gravity Rush demo on their PS Vitas from May 29 onwards, while it will be made available in European territories on May 30.
