Valkyria Chronicles from Sega is a tactical role-playing game. The title was exclusively fashioned for the PS3 and released in the latter part of 2008. Now according to the official PlayStation blog, Sega announces that the hit game will have a sequel dubbed as Valkyria Chronicles II. Valkyria Chronicles

The storyline of the lately announced title for the portable console is based in the year 1937 EC. Like its prequel, this too is set in the fictional version of Europe known as Europa. The echoes of the war still linger in the air and are etched in Gallia’s history even two years after the Second Europan war. Amidst the peace a group emerges calling themselves the Gallian Revolutionary Army who threatens to overthrow the reigning government. In preparation for a fast coup the organization gathers up the cream of the Gallian soldiers and technology.

The unified country is once again plunged into the darkness of war. The heroes of the battles of yore now have families of their own and need protection themselves. As the situation worsens the only hope now lies in the hands of a few students from the Gallian Military Academy. The civil war sweeps the country like wild fire bringing along with it devastation where morality clashes with ideals. Gallia was once a sign of hope against a huge empire but it is left to be seen whether it can stand strong against its own.

Fans of the Valkyria Chronicles franchise will be able to get their hands on the upcoming sequel when it hits shelves in the summer of 2010.
