Star Ocean Second Evolution For PSP Releasing in Europe in February 2009: Square Enix

The Star Ocean game has been in the news for quite some time now. An official release is what gamers have been waiting for. Square Enix publisher of the game finally revealed that the game will be debuting in Europe and all PAL locations in February 2009.

With an improved battle system, fully-voiced, novel animated scenes displayed in 16:9 widescreen, Star Ocean: Second Evolution will enhance the gamer’s journey through stars. Highlights of the game include real-time battles along with a private action system to add much needed intensity to the story.

According to John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix, “2009 is set to be a landmark year for the Star Ocean series, I’m delighted that new fans can continue to experience this classic series with the release of Star Ocean: Second Evolution for PSP and I hope players are excitedly looking forward to the forthcoming release of Star Ocean: The Last Hope.”

A revamped version of the original Star Ocean, Star Ocean: Second Evolution will allow gamers to take complete advantage of its redesigned game engine. Packed with a new layer of character interaction, the game will also give players an opportunity to enjoy their journey as they move into the rich Star Ocean universe. The gameplay basically involves Space Date 366 traveling through a mystical planet to fulfill a prophecy and save a newfound race.

Star Ocean: Second Evolution will be officially released in Europe and all other PAL territories on February 13, 2009 exclusively for the PSP.
