Skype was announced earlier this year for the PSP at the CES Expo. PSP with time, has managed to improve with constant firmware updates and no different is the case for Skype functionality. It allows users to make telephone calls over the Internet to other Skype users free of charge and to landlines and cell phones for a fee. Additional features include instant messaging, file transfer, short message service, video conferencing and its ability to circumvent firewalls.
The only problem that existed was in order to properly use Skype on the PSP was that the users had to use two different peripherals for communication. The Skype PSP Headset is going to arrive in April for 20$ which seems quite affordable. We are assuming the headset will also enable chat feature of Multiplayer based games. We have to admit, it does look sleek!
