Slim PSP to be launched in Europe before Japan!

Oh yes! You read it right! Sony has revealed that the new Slim PSP, which they announced at E3 2007, will be first hitting Europe in early September. The new version of the handheld console is expected to launch in Japan on September 20, 2007.

David Reeves is the president and chief executive officer at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE). He says, “This is an important new model. Once people get it into their hands they will feel the difference. It will come out at €169 in all PAL territories at the beginning of September. In Leipzig there will be a big demo of the video-out function and of new colors which will arrive after launch.”

Some European retailers are speculating that the new Slim PSP could hit the market by late August 2007. In Europe, the new PSP will be priced at £114 (approx. Rs. 9450). In Japan, the slim PSP will cost Y19, 800 (approx. Rs. 6600).
