Bizarre Spends a Fortune on Developing PGR 4

It seems that Bizarre Creations wants PG4 4 to be very, very perfect. Brian Woodhouse of Bizarre Creations has stated that they have spent a fortune developing Project Gotham Racing 4 for the Xbox 360. He even revealed that they won’t release PGR 4 unless they have properly worked on it.

PGR 4

Brian Woodhouse told Eurogamer, “This one, we’re not letting go till it’s done. The development team ‘ran out of time’ when creating the previous PGR game. We feel like we’ve got more time (on PGR4). Last time round, we feel like we got the game ripped away from us. We were disappointed with that. With 2 we probably got it right. With 1 we rushed it out as well. 3, you know, it was a launch title so we were under enormous pressure.”

Woodhouse later added that Bizarre Creations has changed their development mentality and unlike PGR 3, which was a launch title, in the latest title they don’t have to cope up with issues such as difficulty with the hardware and not getting the game up and running early enough.

Project Gotham Racing 4 is expected to have a lot of new features like motorbike races, an enhanced Kudos system and improved weather effects. Not only that, PGR 4 will also have PGR On Demand that will allow gamers to save every race as well as tag them. They will also be able to share photos, which is something similar to Halo 3 and the recently released Forza Motorsport 2.

However, what remains to be seen is when Project Gotham Racing 4 will actually release. Microsoft has said that the game will release in September 2007. Let’s hope whenever it launches, PGR 4 has all the features that Bizarre Creations intends to put!
