In June this year, PlayStation fans got themselves an official PlayStation Blog. Now, thanks to Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and Future US, gamers will also get the PlayStation: The Official magazine.
Future US is a publisher of revolutionary special interest magazines. Simon Whitcombe is the Publishing Director of Future US. He commented on the deal with SCEA saying, “Future’s international heritage is as a PlayStation publisher. PSM sold more than 40 million copies over its lifetime and we have published the Official PlayStation Magazine in the UK since 1995. We’re honored that SCEA recognizes the excellence and experience that we can bring to the license and to PlayStation fans all over the world.”
The very first Future US-published issue of PlayStation: the Official Magazine is slated to hit store shelves in late November. This very first full issue will be titled the Holiday 2007 edition.
Future US will produce and watch over all the editorial content and advertising sales for the PlayStation: The Official Magazine.
13 issues will be rolled out annually. The initial circulation is targeted to be 300,000 copies. Rob Smith will be the editor-in-chief of the PlayStation: The Official Magazine.
Expected to be included in the ‘PlayStation: The Official Magazine’ publication is the latest news, previews and reviews from the video game world. Plus, gamers will also get exclusive product features.
