Japan won’t be the only territory to get the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix which is being developed for the PS3 by Square Enix at the moment. Through a post on the official PlayStation blog, the developer has revealed the game’s intentions to cross over to European, PAL as well as North American regions, with its release date slated for sometime during the fall of this year. And this compilation will indeed ship with Trophy support as well as high-definition graphics.
The Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix will come equipped with two main games from the past. One of them is KH: Final Mix. Launched for the first time in 2002 for the PS2, this set will see its first trip outside Japan. Apart from the original content, it features fresh weapons, enemies, abilities, cutscenes, missions and a new secret movie.
And then, the collection also kicks in KH Re:Chain of Memories. Launched for the PS2 in 2007, this game itself is a remake of a Game Boy Advance offering from 2004. Although it has made its way into North America in the past, this will be first time that European gamers will get to play it.
That’s not all; the collection also kicks in cinematic cutscenes from KH 358/2 Days, the ‘interquel’ between Re:Chain of Memories and KH II. KH 358/2 Days was launched for the DS in 2009, and introduced many new elements to the series.
This huge franchise of action role-playing games is actually a collaboration between Square Enix and Disney Interactive Studios. Veteran designer, Tetsuya Nomura handles the direction of the series which features various Disney settings, and is based in completely new universe.
Its latest iteration had come in the form of KH 3D: Dream Drop Distance which was released for Nintendo’s 3DS console last year. The next big entry, tentatively dubbed KH III, is still surrounded with secrecy, with many being clueless about its existence in the first place.
Gamers can look forward to purchasing Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix when it comes out for the PS3 during the fall of this year. Square Enix hasn’t provided its actual launch date, but Amazon is currently pegging it at September 30, 2013. It can be pre-ordered through the said retailer now.
