E3 is brimming with a lot of exciting news at the moment, and this particular one involving Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has just managed to catch our attention. As was revealed at Sony’s E3 press conference, the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game will come with 1 hour of exclusive content (same applies to Watch Dogs too by the way), and through Kotaku now, Ubisoft has confirmed that this single-player addition will revolve around Aveline, the heroine who starred in AC 3: Liberation, the first game from the series on the PS Vita.
Aveline de Grandpré will be seen featuring in a total of three new missions which shall be created just for the PS3 and PS4 versions of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Hence, those who will be purchasing the title’s PC, Wii U, Xbox 360 or Xbox One editions will not get to witness them. As for how the pirate-focused story of the series’ new protagonist Edward Kenway intertwines with that of the revolutionary heroine, Aveline, nothing has been said by Ubisoft on this matter.
The story of Aveline from AC 3: Liberation will continue into Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. The first female individual to star as a playable character in an AC game, she is of French and African heritage. Her PS Vita appearance was also a tie-up with last year’s AC 3. Sony and Ubisoft’s partnership on this matter had even resulted in a hardware bundle for the Vita being released by them.
The next-gen focused Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is all set to arrive this fall, and at this E3, it got showcased in its full form to visitors. It will of course come equipped with single-player and multiplayer gameplay, and will embrace a piracy-themed storyline set during the eighteenth century. This open world offering will take place in three main cities, namely Havana, Kingston and Nassau. A number of familiar as well as fresh gameplay elements will also form part of it.
AC 4: Black Flag is slated to hit the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U on October 29, but its release date information for the Xbox One and the PS4 hasn’t been confirmed as yet.
