Yes, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be seeing a beta run, and plans for a public test of the same were disclosed by developer SuperBot Entertainment recently. As of now, the game is in its development beta stage, but its maker will gradually be extending its reach by sending out more codes.
It was only last week that the developer called upon a select group of players to receive a hands-on preview of the upcoming title. Meant to test servers and connectivity issues, this test allowed gamers to assume control of Kratos, Sweet Tooth, PaRappa the Rapper, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper and Fat Princess. The environments that were part of the beta include Dreamscape, Metropolis, Sandover Village and Hades. Following this beta test, some leaked images of it had surfaced on the web. Here’s what the developer has to say about that.
“In addition, there was an unexpected and unintended leak in our beta that allowed fans to be able to see some additional content. We’ve enjoyed reading all of the fan reaction and are thrilled that so many of you are excited to learn more about our character roster and level mash-ups, however we are still in development and the leaked content does not fully represent the final product nor the incredible efforts that were made to make these elements truly spectacular,” Chan Park, President, SuperBot Entertainment, wrote on the official PlayStation blog.
The public beta of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is all set to be expanded in the coming weeks. Batches of codes will be sent out by the developer; more information will be doled out on the blog from time to time. Early access will of course be granted to PS Plus subscribers, while other PSN account holders will get a chance to jump into the beta afterwards.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is slated to release on October 23, 2012 for the PS3 and the PS Vita. It can be pre-ordered now at a price of 59.99 9USD (approx. Rs. 3,345).
