inFamous 2 made big news this March when developers announced that User Generated Content will be integrated into the open world game. The idea behind this was to let users build their own missions even after completing the original missions. And yesterday, Sucker Punch announced on the PlayStation blog, the launch of the first UGC Vehicles Pack which is now available on the PSN.
Vehicles like the Bertrand’s Limo, Bertrand’s Semi-Truck, the New Marais Police Car, the Ambulance, and a bike can now be used in the game through the pack. Numerous single-player missions are incorporated into this pack. These comprise scenarios like curing wounded pedestrians out of a flipped over ambulance while at the same time shielding them from enemies.
“Be sure to check out the inFamous 2 UGC tutorial videos that guide you through the tech and concepts behind great UGC missions. These tutorials will help guide you in creating missions, understanding how logic boxes work, setting waypoints, implementing triggers, and more,” explained, Collin Moore, Community Manager, Sucker Punch Productions, on the blog.
Other missions involve gamers in situations like catching bicycle thieves and assisting the Police in countering from incoming attacks from the Vermaak 88 Ice Soldiers. The Mission Search feature enables players to look for missions by typing random names. Any term including PSN user names can be searched for on the pause menu.
The inFamous 2 UGC Vehicles Pack is now available on PSN for free. Developers have also revealed that more such content would be launched for the game in coming weeks and months.
