BloodRayne: Betrayal Launching Next Week via PSN

BloodRayne: Betrayal is an HD side-scrolling game which is all set to release next week as a part of the PSN Play program. A new addition to the popular BloodRayne franchise, this title is touted to feature deep and varied combat alongside smooth and fluid animations. According to the PlayStation blog, elements like the Brimstone Society and Rayne’s evil father Kagan from earlier games in the series return with this title.

The vampire-hunting Brimstone Society has been altered to remind gamers of an inefficient SWAT team. On the other hand, Kagan has been made more ‘theatrical and dangerous.’ For the musical score of this title, developer WayForward has chosen a classical metal soundtrack. Gamers will have ‘tons’ of moves at their disposal as they fight their way through a ‘host’ of enemies. The foes include twisted monsters named Wheelers and juggernaut hammer-wielding Blood Balloons.

“With the power of the PS3 behind us, we have crafted our first HD side-scrolling game, and it looks frickin’ amazing! We’ve combined a rich fluid dynamic system that allows for superbly splattery blood, unique screen-distorting refraction effects for all of Rayne’s slicing and dicing, tons of layers of background parallax, and literally thousands of frames of character animations to make one of the prettiest digital HD games you’ll ever play,” stated, Sean Velasco, Designer and Director, WayForward, on the blog.

BloodRayne: Betrayal will be the third title in the inaugural PSN Play promotion launched this summer. It includes four games which, if pre-ordered, are offered with DLCs and other bonuses. Moreover, those who buy all the four titles will win a free copy of the upcoming Payday: The Heist.

BloodRayne: Betrayal would be launched through PSN on September 6 and will be priced at 14.99 USD (approx Rs. 686).
