Modder Makes PS3 Games Possible on “Handheld” PS3 Wireless Visual Interface

Recently we brought you word of the Xbox 360 laptop mod with its striking red and black scheme and professional design. Now Kotaku is reporting that modder techknkott from the Ben Heck forums has come up with a (not so) portable device which allows you to remotely play your PS3 games on, what can only be described as, an awkward handheld device.

PS3 Wireless Visual Interface

Known as the PS3 Wireless Visual Interface, the device streams the PS3’s data directly which is then replicated on its own screen and speakers. Of course, you don’t get PS3 graphics and sounds quality. But why do you want that when you have portability?

The device has a 4500 mAh lithium-ion battery and recharge circuit with a built-in LED capacity meter, a 5 inch widescreen LCD, ports for AV in, headphones, USB mini, and charging, and a 1.2 GHz wireless AV receiver and a PS3 remote receiver.

PS3 Wireless Visual Interface 2

Unlike Sony’s official remote play function, the device will stream practically anything to and from your PS3 console including Modern Warfare 2 or any other PS3 game. And it will be up for sale shortly. Can you believe that!
