Developed by Konami, the arcade title dubbed as Frogger first caught the fancy of gamers worldwide back in 1981. This classic has received many accolades for its novel theme and gameplay elements. The company now brings back the lovable frog with the introduction of Frogger Returns. Frogger has seen many iterations in the past cropping up with Frogger Returns being the latest.
The latest game provides players with captivating a dodge-and-run gameplay. Frogger Returns can be played on the Wii as well as the PS3. Gamers will get a spark of nostalgia as this title too transports them to the concrete jungle. Here players must see that Frogger makes it back home to his marsh safely. While still incorporating the popular classic arcade style, the upcoming title sports a new camera angle, better graphics as well as brand new levels to cross.
The levels integrated into Frogger Returns are strewn with many obstacles and features many city locales like subways, streets and sewers. Also making harder for the little green amphibian to make it home are some dangerous enemies. Frogger is however aided by new power-ups like time freeze, reverse and invincibility which will help see him through the challenging levels.
Konami claims to deliver a game that is 12 times the size of the original with Frogger Returns. This title has local multiplayer capabilities all in 3D graphics where gamers can play timed capture-the-pad races with friends. They can even shoe off their best scores to all their best buddies. The latest iteration is backed by a 25-year legacy, more levels and innovative controller options only heighten the players’ gaming experience.
Frogger Returns can be downloaded from the PlayStation Network and Nintendo WiiWare this autumn. The price is not yet revealed by the company.
