A few weeks ago, Q-Games put up a trailer to their fourth PixelJunk game, tentatively named PixelJunk 1-4. The developer also launched a naming contest for the game open to the public, which got over 10,000 people to add their suggestions. Now writing on the PlayStation Blog, President and Executive Producer at Q-Games, Dylan Cuthbert, announces that the name PixelJunk Shooter has been chosen.
“The most popular name suggested by a long shot was PixelJunk Elements, but we decided that it didn’t capture the shooting side of the game well enough and at the worst people might think it was a game about the weather,” Cuthbert writes on the blog.
The names that came close to taking the cake in the naming contest were Depths, Atlantis, Caves, Blaster and S.O.S! Cuthbert adds that there will be a playable demo of PixelJunk Shooter at his year’s E3. The demo, apparently, includes “number of cool new things” including co-op play.
