Castrade Game Box Connects Consoles to any Monitor

Sometimes connecting your console, whether it is the Wii, PS2 or PS3, to an LCD monitor or projector, using all those expensive cables can be quite frustrating. The console tends to switch to a lower quality video mode. Now Gizmodo reports that Castrade has come out with the CG-USC01HD-PLUS Game Box which minimizes hassle when connecting console to high resolution LCD monitors and projectors.

Apparently, the game box can accept video input from basically any source which uses a common video cable and will appropriately scale the input to a resolution that suits the LCD monitor or projector. Using the Game Box, the console will not revert video settings even if different settings such as 1080i are not supported by the 1280 by 1024 pixels monitor. Additionally, the box also accepts audio inputs via a few console connectors and uses a 3.5 mm jack to send the audio signals out. Pricing and availability of the box are not clear with a release only in Japan seeming likely.
