Though it was not a huge hit, quite a few PlayStation 3 gamers enjoyed playing Heavenly Sword. The adventure game featured Nariko, often referred to as the female ”˜God of War’. A sequel to Heavenly Sword was expected but yesterday reports trickled in that Heavenly Sword 2 was cancelled.
However, it seems that Heavenly Sword 2 is not nixed after all! Nick Caplin is the corporate public relation manager at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. He spoke to gaming blog Kotaku about the cancellation of HS 2 and explained, “I think it is fair to say that we do not comment on rumor and speculation, especially about games that have never been announced.”
Caplin also spoke about the company’s first party studios and pointed out that Sony is still dedicated to them. Also on the issue about European studios that Sony works with, he commented that games LittleBigPlanet, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and Killzone 2 are all from European studios. Yesterday, Shuhei Yoshida from Sony had spoken about the Eight Days game for the PS3, which was canned.
