Sony has a habit of coming out with fat devices and then slimming them down. They did it with the PS2 and even with the PSP! At E3 2007, they had introduced the slimmer version of the handheld. Now the T3 website is reporting that Sony is planning to come up with a slimmer and a trimmer PlayStation 3.
T3 had got in touch with a particularly well-informed insider at the Consumer Electronics Show last month. The informer indicated that Sony will be soon launching a supposedly slimmer, lighter weight version of the PS3. There are speculations that this new version of their next generation console will have a 160GB hard disk.
Lately, there have been many rumors about the PS3; one indicated that there would be a 120GB HDD in newer versions of the next-gen machine. Just as always, Sony is mum on the slim PS3 issue. But we will have to wait till the Fall of 2008 as the rumor indicates that the new slimmer version of the PS3 will be released around that time.
