Haze Delayed, Ubisoft Posts Profits

It had to happen, big games eventually have to get delayed! It has emerged that one of the eagerly awaited games for the PS3, Haze has been delayed by Ubisoft. However, that wouldn’t bother Ubi as they have come out with their financial results for the first half of the fiscal year that shows that sales were up 52 per cent.

Haze Delayed

Yves Guillemot, CEO, Ubisoft says, “Ubisoft’s excellent sales performance during the first half of fiscal 2007-08 has considerably boosted our earnings figures for the period. In addition, the early indications for our Christmas game launches have been positive, especially for Assassin’s Creed, whose sell-through sales have already topped the record level of 1 million units. These very strong trends further underpin our confidence that we will achieve our objectives for the current year and add further impetus for fiscal 2008-09, which we expect to be another year of robust growth for the Group.”

Haze, which is exclusive to the PS3, is not the only game from Ubisoft to be delayed. One more exclusive, Splinter Cell: Conviction that is going to come only on the Xbox 360 has also been delayed. Haze is now expected to release in the first quarter of next year while Conviction will be out after April 2008.
