New Version of PS3 to Release in 2008?

After the release of the Xbox 360 Elite with the 120 GB hard disk, there have been a lot of speculations regarding a new version of the PS3. According to an Australian technology website, Sony could soon come out with a new next-gen console in 2008. However, it is not known whether the new console will be PS4 or a second version of the PS3.

New Version of PS3 to Release in 2008?

The next-gen console is expected to have a software suite for managing streaming of content to TVs and hi-fis and feature improved output. The machine will be based on the same chipset as PS3. Just last week, we had reported about outgoing Sony Entertainment executive Ken Kutaragi who was already spilling the beans about not only the PS4, but also the PS5 and PS6.

A Sony insider revealed to the technology website that they have looked at a Sony home server based on PlayStation technology and Sony wants customers to connect home automation devices to the Sony server while playing online games and downloading movies and music.

Some time ago, there were also rumors about an 80 GB PS3. However, that was just a speculation. Sony is refusing to comment on the PS4 or PS3 – 2. Keep watching this space for more details.
