Namco Bandai Games Europe has announced Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 4, which is slated to be the first video game based on the Naruto Shippuden animated series. The game features the trademark of the animated series and will have a few new characters.
Naruto returns to the Hidden Leaf Village to save his rival Sasuke from Orochimaru, two and a half years after he left for a stringent training routine. In Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 4, Naruto is reunited with his old friends and finds out that an organization, Akatsuki poses a very serious threat to his village.
Players can delve into the ninja world as Naruto with deep game modes. The Master Mode aims at telling the story of Naruto’s return to the Hidden Leaf Village combining action and role-playing elements. One or two players can play in the Free Battle Mode in a game that features 52 characters in total.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 4 has the biggest collection of playable characters ever to be featured in an Ultimate Ninja franchise. The game is expected to be released for the PS2 sometime in May of 2009. Earlier Namco Bandai had worked on another Naruto title.
