The Sims 4 receives Hogwarts-like mystical expansion next month

The Sims 4

The Sims 4 it seems is all set to be blessed with the kind of witchcraft and wizardry we’ve witnessed in the world of Harry Potter, as a new Realms of Magic expansion has been announced for the game. It’s slated to arrive for PC and Mac on September 10, while its release for the PS4 and the Xbox One versions of the game will take place a month later, on October 15. There’s no information about its price yet, but we can predict that this pack will cost 19.99 USD when it arrives.

The Realm of Magic expansion for The Sims 4 infuses it with a sleepy town called Glimmerbrook. This neighborhood however, hides a deep secret in the form of a portal to a Hogwarts-like world. The Sims that enter it are able to study magic, and form guilds with fellow magicians. Of course, there are plenty of quests to be a part of as well.

There are spells to be learned, and once you’re adept enough, you can use them to conjure food out of thin air, or to make other Sims fight with each other. But spells aren’t everything; there are potions to be concocted, and magical duels to be had with other Sims. The Realm of Magic also brings with it magic-themed outfits, decorations and items like wands and brooms.

The Sims 4 was released back in 2014 for PC, while its console launch came in 2017. It brought back the same basic simulation gameplay that was established by its predecessor, and the main criticism facing it was lack of fresh content. The makers tried to solve that with a number of additional content packs and expansions that are being released for it on a regular basis.

The Realm of Magic is one of those expansions, and like we said, it’s slated to hit the PC and Mac versions of The Sims 4 on September 10. As for the PS4 and Xbox One versions, they will get it on October 15.
