SimCity UK, US release date Pushed Back to March

EA recently announced that the remake of SimCity for PC and Mac systems will have its release date scheduled for March, that’s a month later from the previously disclosed launch details. The game will first be available in the US followed closely by the UK that will receive the title a couple of days later.

The franchise has been making a name for itself for over 2 decades now it has several sequels in its lineup including the popular SimCity Societies. It was back in March that Maxis announced the arrival of the SimCity game. This latest iteration to the city building simulation series brings in a multiplayer mode where for the first time, players will be able to create their own city together.

The game is based on Maxis’ GlassBox simulation engine and it is said to deliver a dynamic experience to both fans and new players. The gameplay starts off with players working towards creating a specialized city focused on certain fields such as casinos, trade, tourism and much more. The developer behind this title is also responsible for other popular franchises such as the The Sims and Spore.

SimCity is currently up for pre-order through the Origin store. The limited edition package has a price tag of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,225), while the deluxe edition will cost potential buyers 79.99 USD (approx. Rs. 4,300). Come 8 March, 2013, the title will hit availability status in the UK, while a post on the official SimCity Twitter account states that a US launch has been scheduled for 5 March.
