Concurrent to the launch of their tenth studio album, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be re-entering the Rock Band library with an eight-song track pack. The contents of this pack include five tracks from their previous records and three from their latest album. Dubbed as the ‘I’m With the Chili Peppers Pack,’ this DLC will be made available to download on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii from August 30, 2011.
‘The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie,’ ‘Monarchy of Roses’ and ‘Look Around’ are the three songs from the new album which will be available through the pack. Apart from these, their 2002 single, ‘By the Way’ will also be featured in the DLC. Their 2000 hit, ‘Californication’ along with other tracks like ‘Parallel Universe,’ ‘Scar Tissue’ and ‘Otherside’ too would be making their way into the pack.
In a bid to celebrate the launch of RHCP’s new album, the band, together with Harmonix, will be dishing out free merchandise and download codes for fans. These giveaways will take place on August 23 and August 30 and is slated to include ‘I’m With You’ CDs, t-shirts, posters, Rock Band 3, and Xbox 360 codes for the ‘I’m With the Chili Peppers Pack’. Fans wishing to compete for these freebies can visit the Facebook and Twitter pages of the band and the game.
The ‘I’m With the Chili Peppers Pack’ which comprises of eight songs by Red Hot Chili Peppers, will be available to download from the Rock band library from August 30, 2011. It will cost gamers 13.49 USD (approx Rs. 617) if purchased collectively while individual tracks will be sold for 1.99 USD (approx Rs. 91). Two tracks – Otherside and Californication will be offered with Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for an extra charge of 0.99 USD (approx Rs. 45) per song.
