Green Day: Rock Band to be launched this June

Here’s some news for ardent fans who’d love to step into the shoes of Green Day – MTV Games, Harmonix and Green Day have collaborated to develop Green Day: Rock Band. The game that is designed for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii gaming systems will see a worldwide release on June 8, 2010.

This game features the three-part vocal harmony technology by Harmonix that made its debut with The Beatles: Rock Band. The setlist comprises of forty-seven Green Day tracks including ‘Jaded,’ ‘Brain Stew,’ ‘Hitchin’ a Ride,’ ‘American Idiot,’ ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams,’ and ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends.’ These fully exportable tracks can be played in Rock Band, Rock Band 2 as well as in the recently announced Rock Band 3, apart from Green Day: Rock Band. The game works with all Rock Band instrument controllers, Guitar Hero as also third-party music video game peripherals and microphones.

What’s more, the six Green Day songs that have been released previously in the Rock Band Music Store as downloadable content may be played in Green Day: Rock Band with added vocal harmonies, exclusive archival material and unique performance visuals. The export fee amounts to $9.99 (approx. Rs.455) for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 units. It must be noted that the export feature will not be made available for Wii consoles. This game will be unleashed simultaneously across North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other countries.

The Green Day: Rock Band standalone game for Xbox 360 and PS3 costs $59.99 (approx. Rs.2,736), while it is priced at $49.99 (approx. Rs.2,280) for Wii. Green Day: Rock Band Plus for Xbox 360 and PS3 is tagged at $69.99 (approx. Rs.3,190). It is offered with special packaging, export and six Green Day DLC tracks worth $22 (approx. Rs.1,000).
