Rock Band Music Store to Get Decades of Rock This Week, says Harmonix

Recently, we heard the official announcement of Lego Rock Band. Now MTV Games and Harmonix have sent word that 10 songs from six rock bands will be added to the Rock Band Music Store. The rock artists featured are Alien Ant Farm, Franz Ferdinand, Luscious Jackson, Prong, The Allman Brothers Band and The Distillers.

Rock Band

Franz Ferdinand will get their track Take Me Out from their 2004 self-titled album on the Rock Band Music Store this week. The band will also have Do You Want To from their 2005 album You Could Have It So Much Better and Lucid Dreams from their 2009 album Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, on the catalog. The Allman Brothers Band will be making their Rock Band Music Store debut with Midnight Rider taken from the band’s 1970 Idlewild South album and Blue Sky from their Eat a Peach album released in 1972.

Making their Rock Band debut will be the metal band from New York City, Prong with Idealistic Types and The Banishment taken from the band’s 2007 album Power to the Damager. Also debuting on Rock Band will be The Distillers with Drain the Blood featured on their 2003 album Coral Fang. Finally this week’s Rock Band Music Store additions will include Smooth Criminal from Ant Farm’s 2001 album ANThology and Luscious Jackson’s Naked Eye taken from his 1996 album Fever In Fever Out.

Individual tracks can be downloaded from the Xbox Live Marketplace or the PlayStation Store. Also, the three songs from Franz Ferdinand will be available as a three-pack. Prices for the tracks have not been given, but the tracks will appear on the Xbox Live Marketplace on May 5, 2009 and on the PlayStation Store on May 7, 2009.
