God of War IV Under Development?

From what has emerged over the drama that has been unfolding for the last few days, it seems that the possibility of a God of War IV being on the cards cannot be ignored. One of the composers who is apparently working on this game has listed it on his resume, opening doors to heaps of speculations amongst gamers.

God of War Rumor

Siliconera managed to spot a resume of composer Timothy Williams which lists the next God of War game to be his upcoming work. This resume has now been taken out, it seems. Timothy is also known to be person behind the score of the forthcoming Dota 2 and moreover, he has also provided orchestrations in the recent film remake of Halloween.

As one would have expected, on being contacted by Joystiq, Sony stayed mum on the matter, saying that they ‘do not comment on rumors or speculation’ about their products. But the same website also tried to contact Williams himself, who has supposedly confirmed the news. He replied that he is ‘working on it (the game) in the capacity of orchestrations and some additional music,’ but pointed out that the main composer is Tyler Bates.

The last mainstream console game in the much loved series came in the form of God of War III which was launched for the PS3 in 2010. And it was in the same year that God of War: Ghost of Sparta came out for the PSP. The most recent outing for the franchise was in 2011, which saw the release of God of War: Origins Collection. This pack included HD remakes of two PSP games, meant to be played on the PS3.

The statement by Timothy might have somewhat corroborated the existence of God of War IV, but we’d like the official confirmation to come from Sony, to believe in this rumor.
